Searching Through History

September 15th, 2015

I know I have a lot of pictures of the 16th Street Baptist church on my site. I apologize for that but I am searching for something there at a place where equality and justice was lost. But yet somehow symbolizes justice, equity and all that is civil in the world today. I find myself there often even when I planned to photograph something else for the day. Sometimes as a photographer you know that there is something there but you just can't quite put your finger on it. I find it a true challenge trying to bring some kind of finality to a portrait of a historic landmark that represents so much to the African American community and to the history of this great nation that we are forever attempting to find our true place. For now I'm still searching for that something that truly pulls my heart string and I hope along my journey I want frustrate you my fans and you enjoy the journey with me as I continue to search for that defining moment for something so relevant that has defined our culture.

Life Lessons 1 - Relationships

I was just thinking that after God created everything on the earth. The first thing He did was to create a relationship. First there was the relationship between God and man. Then came the relationship between man and woman. I think the order of these relationships are extremely important. Before we develop a relationship (couples) with anybody on this earth we may want to consider developing a relationship with God first. We need to put Him first and acknowledge Him ( Proverbs 3:6). Then begin to cultivate relationships in God's love and guidance. This will help us keep the proper order so when faced with an opportunity to obey God or have a relationship we can make better choices. Let us learn from Adam's mistake.
